Bella the Baladi

Bella the Baladi is an ongoing practice with my dog — walking, training, and moving through shared environments together.
It began as something personal. But over time it became a way of thinking.
Watching how Bella responds to space — what she notices, what unsettles her, where she slows down or won’t go — opened up questions I hadn’t found another way into.
About attention. About regulation. About what bodies pick up on before the mind catches up.
This work explores:
•how animals and humans navigate shared environments differently
•what regulation and co-regulation look like in practice
•how paying attention to another body can sharpen how we read space
It’s not a theory. It’s something that happens on walks, in training, in the small negotiations of moving through the world with another creature.
And quietly, it keeps feeding back into how I think about access.
